Title: Rich Dad Poor Dad Pdf What the Rich Teach Their Kids About Money That the Poor and Middle Class Do Not!
Author: Robert T. Kiyosaki
Published Date: 2017-04-11
Page: 336
April 2017 marks 20 years since Robert Kiyosaki’s Rich Dad Poor Dad first made waves in the Personal Finance arena.
It has since become the #1 Personal Finance book of all time... translated into dozens of languages and sold around the world.

Rich Dad Poor Dad is Robert's story of growing up with two dads — his real father and the father of his best friend, his rich dad — and the ways in which both men shaped his thoughts about money and investing. The book explodes the myth that you need to earn a high income to be rich and explains the difference between working for money and having your money work for you.

20 Years... 20/20 Hindsight
In the 20th Anniversary Edition of this classic, Robert offers an update on what we’ve seen over the past 20 years related to money, investing, and the global economy. Sidebars throughout the book will take readers “fast forward” — from 1997 to today — as Robert assesses how the principles taught by his rich dad have stood the test of time.

In many ways, the messages of Rich Dad Poor Dad, messages that were criticized and challenged two decades ago, are more meaningful, relevant and important today than they were 20 years ago.

As always, readers can expect that Robert will be candid, insightful... and continue to rock more than a few boats in his retrospective.

Will there be a few surprises? Count on it.

Rich Dad Poor Dad...
• Explodes the myth that you need to earn a high income to become rich
• Challenges the belief that your house is an asset
• Shows parents why they can't rely on the school system to teach their kids about money
• Defines once and for all an asset and a liability
• Teaches you what to teach your kids about money for their future financial success

Buy the book and run away from richdad education! Total scam! The book is really easy to understand and to read, the message Robert gives is good and can help you change your mindset to be more financially independent but please beware of richdad education. After purchasing this book I immediately received ads all over social Media Facebook and instagram about Rich dad education seminars. I sign up for and went to one of their “free” seminars just to find a random guy talking about how rich and and wealthy he become after rich dad education and how now he is giving back to the community teaching them how they can become wealthy by doing all the real estate strategies promising that they will teach all this great strategies if you purchase a 3 day seminar for $700.00 ... and so I did purchase the 3 day seminar excited to find out what I was promised “real estate strategies” unfortunately after a few hours of being in the seminar I realized that all they were doing is talking about how you need and must invest on a 50k package plan. So you can have access to a mentor. 3 whole days just listening to an old lady talking about her life and how rich and wealthy she is, brainwashing you to invest in their plans to the point of asking for extreme personal financial information. wasted 3 days of my life and $700.00 just to give them the opportunity to talk about how I need to purchase their $50,000 legacy plan. They never talk about what I was promised at first on any real estate strategy. Please beware of this scam. I posted the packages they almost force to purchase and the questionnaire are you need to submit so they know how much money you have and or how you can get a loan to purchase their package.A great foundation book for beginning to improve your financial intelligence This is an enhanced reprint of the original, with additional study questions/ discussion and review added at the end of every chapter. I bought the original about 18 years ago and it changed my families destiny for the better. I am glad the reprint came out as it prompted me to reread it and deepen my understanding. Some people complain that this book does not give a step by step process for change. I would counter that one size shoe does not fit all feet. There are many individual paths to wealth, and Kiyosaki sets the guiding stars to navigate by, but you have to walk your own individual road. Some key concepts of this book are: 1) Assets put money in your pocket even when you are on vacation. Liabilities take money out of your pocket, therefore your house is a liability [unless you rent out rooms and the garage as one person I know did while rebuilding his asset base].2) Wealthy people buy assets first, and then let their assets buy their luxuries from the surplus cash flow.3) Wealthy people continuously increase their assets by reinvesting their surplus cash flow in more assets.4) There are 3 primary asset classes: Real Estate, Businesses, and Paper assets (stocks bonds notes, etc)5) Cash Flow is more important than Net Worth. Net Worth is similar to potential energy, to use it you have to spend it, then it is gone. Cash Flow is like power from a hydroelectric dam, constantly replenished. The rich don't work for money, they work for assets. The tax laws are fair from the standpoint that the laws that the rich spent billions of dollars to have modified and interpreted apply to everyone who learns how to use them.A great foundation book for beginning to improve your financial intelligence so that you don't work 4 or more month's of every year for the Tax man, more months for the banks that hold your mortgage and credit cards, and whatever is left making the company you work for wealthy. Good luck on your journey to being Rich, poor, or middle class.Rich Motivation, Poor Examples, Fun to Read A very motivational book without a lot of practical steps to magically achieve the goals listed. Some inaccurate information such as Charles Schwab dying penniless. More important is the author filed for bankruptcy in 2012. Why is that? Research it on your own. For most people this will motivate them to THINK differently and think outside the box, but not necessarily ACT differently, as we still need money to live on and have to work some and not just dream big without action and income behind it. This books contrasts another book "The Millionaire Next Door." Some of the examples that seem to be his idols are a bit scary too, like Ray Kroc. I'd rather apply Biblical money principles from people like Dave Ramsey. All in all a fun good read for mental stimulation. Take it with a grain of salt and don't blindly follow it 100%

Little Women (Signet Classics) Free Pdf

ISBN: 0451532082
Title: Little Women (Signet Classics) Pdf

.Louisa May Alcott (1832-1888) was born in Germantown, Pennsylvania. The family later settled in Concord, Massachusetts, where Alcott was influenced by their neighbors Nathaniel Hawthorne, Ralph Waldo Emerson, and Henry David Thoreau. At a young age, Louisa took on some of the family’s financial burdens and worked as a domestic, a teacher, and a writer. In 1868 and 1869, fame and fortune came with the publication of Little Women. During her lifetime, Alcott wrote numerous novels and was an active campaigner for temperance and women’s suffrage.Louisa May Alcott shares the innocence of girlhood in this classic coming of age story about four sisters—Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy.   In picturesque nineteenth-century New England, tomboyish Jo, beautiful Meg, fragile Beth, and romantic Amy are responsible for keeping a home while their father is off to war. At the same time, they must come to terms with their individual personalities—and make the transition from girlhood to womanhood. It can all be quite a challenge. But the March sisters, however different, are nurtured by their wise and beloved Marmee, bound by their love for each other and the feminine strength they share. Readers of all ages have fallen instantly in love with these Little Women. Their story transcends time—making this novel endure as a classic piece of American literature that has captivated generations of readers with their charm, innocence, and wistful insights. This Signet Classics edition contains Little Women in its entirety, including Parts I and II.   With an Introduction by Regina Bareccaand an Afterword by Susan Straight

Five Stars love itLittle Women (Signet Classics) I first read this story via Kindle (you can get the Kindle app for computers and most classics for free here on Amazon). I fell in love with the story and wanted to get my own physical copy. I was looking for an inexpensive edition that contained both "Little Women" and "Good Wives," which completes the story of the March girls' growth from girlhood to marriage. This edition fit the bill! The print is a little small, but it's such a long story that I suppose it would be a gigantic book if the print were much larger. I'm happy with it.Great deal, pristine condition! Was looking for this classic book that includes both parts of the story. This fit the bill and was a clean and beautiful copy.

Opening a microbrewery starts with, of course, making great beer. But that is just the beginning. Today’s sophisticated patrons are offered an ever-increasing array of options. It’s so much more than beer nowadays. Yes, great beer is essential, but to attract and hold on to a loyal customer base, you must create a sense of place. Do your research. Understand financing and cash flow. Know how to measure your success. A successful, well-run microbrewery knows how to hire the right employees―employees that will spread word of your business to friends, family, even total strangers, both on and off the clock. The Microbrewery Handbook: Craft, Brew, and Build Your Own Microbrewery Success is an indispensable, first-of-its-kind book for anyone in the micro and craft brewing industry.

Great Handbook for any business owner Full disclosure: I live in Pensacola, Florida, so I am a regular customer at Perfect Plain, DC Reeves’ microbrewery and can attest to its greatness. Especially its cool and community-focused marketing and branding and its thoughtful approach – from a ladies' room designed for selfies to its being the only place in town that would ever open at the crack of down so England fans can watch the World Cup, Perfect Plain is one of a kind. And I haven’t even mentioned the beer. This is probably why the Microbrewery Handbook is a great handbook for any entrepreneur, not just those in the brewing industry.I am one of those that believes culture is everything in business and there is great advice here on everything needed to build a great team and great customer service, delivered in a fun and easy to read to guide.Easy and informative read. Just finished the book. Very comprehensive and straight to the point without a ton of fluff. Some of the stuff may seem obvious but there is lots of often overlooked information pertaining to things like permitting and branding and measuring data (sales and foot traffic etc)Best chapters are about employee retention and training.Easy and informative read for anyone planning on opening brewery but also pertinent information if you want to open a small business of any kind.

Lawyer Forward Pdf

ISBN: B07YNFT3GN
Title: Lawyer Forward Pdf Finding Your Place in the Future of Law
We are all solo, yet none of us is solo.

This realization is the key to designing a future-proof path in the legal industry.

Through this transparent and often inspiring personal narrative, author Mike Whelan shares the importance of a new model for legal practice built on principles of specialization and collaboration.

Mike begins by describing the failed system we've been taught, one built upon time and monopolized access to information. He calls this system "The Churn" and lays out the history and elements of that harmful model. He then offers an alternative that addresses every dangerous element of The Churn, finally asking how you'll forge your own path forward.

The stakes could not be higher. Data consistently shows that lawyers are not respected. Studies also reveal the toll this takes on lawyers, who are at significant risk of depression and substance abuse. The Churn works for no one, Mike argues, and it's time to propose something different.

Mike does that in thought-provoking fashion by sharing his own path. He looks back at his pre-law career in logistics to define a "Legal Supply Chain" and how a collaborative model might work in law. By understanding these principles of specialization and collaboration, Mike believes that lawyers can follow their own bliss and deliver better for the consumers and societies we aim to serve.

Throughout the book, Whelan shares the work of great scientists and sociologists in a way that is easy to understand and apply. He finds that all successful complex systems work in a similar way, and that the legal field doesn't work that way at all. Only through systems thinking and redesign can we defeat the Churn and provide better for both consumers and lawyers.

Here's how early readers describe the ideas found in Lawyer Forward...

"This book is for every lawyer, and especially every solo, who has ever felt worn down or trapped by the shackles of traditional law practice. Lawyer and master storyteller Mike Whelan has written a highly personal, deeply engaging, and thoroughly pragmatic guide to breaking those chains and regaining the freedom to have the fulfilling legal career you always wanted." -Jordan Furlong, Law21 and author of Law is a Buyer's Market

"If you've ever been tired, stressed, and worn out by your law practice, this book is for you. Lawyer Forward captures the all-too-real struggle that solo small lawyers face. Mike's engaging story weaves in science, history, and pop culture as he reveals the big picture we've been missing and then shows you the way out of 'The Churn.' This book is witty and engaging. It will change the way you practice law." -Jess Birken, Birken Law and Hack Your Practice

"Filled with personal and professional anecdotes, well-researched case studies, and the author’s unique ability to distill and explain oft-confusing concepts, Mike persuasively lays out a roadmap for lawyers to carve out their own space in the future of the legal profession." -Nicole Abboud, Gen Why Lawyer

If you are ready to rethink the nature of "lawyering," to defeat the Churn and map your own path into the future of law, read your copy of Lawyer Forward and share another with a young attorney. That is how these ideas will make the change the legal industry needs.

Well written and an outstanding read! Received the book on Saturday and began reading immediately. The author does a great job researching and storytelling. This is an outstanding read for those in academia and private practice. If you are interested in expertise or a volume practice, Lawyer Forward is the book to help you identify your strengths and build the practice you desire.Light at the end of the tunnel. I met Mr. Whelan at a conference last spring. We spent quite a while a couches in the hotel lobby talking about the state of the legal industry. When I heard he was putting out this book I knew I would have to buy it.He vividly expressed the turmoil of small firm and solo attorneys and the state of the legal market in small town America. His personal journey has given him unique insights into some possible fixes to these issuesIf you know a small firm or solo attorney buy this book for them now. Offer to babysit their kids so they can read it.I for one have found a path forward for my business that I had not considered before.Thank you Mike. I look forward to our next couch conversation.Honest, well-written must read for solo attorneys If you are a solo attorney struggling to build the law practice you want, this is the book you have been waiting for. Through personal stories that most solo lawyers can relate to, Mr. Whelan helps you understand why you’re working crazy hours with little to show for it. Drawing on his work experience prior to law school, he makes a compelling argument that you don’t have to follow the standard, outdated solo path and offers the reader 2 alternative business models that can make you a better, happier advocate for your clients. Lawyer Forward is a great starting point for the solo attorney who asks, how do I get myself out this mess?

Jim Simons is the greatest money maker in modern financial history. No other investor--Warren Buffett, Peter Lynch, Ray Dalio, Steve Cohen, or George Soros--can touch his record. Since 1988, Renaissance's signature Medallion fund has generated average annual returns of 66 percent. The firm has earned profits of more than $100 billion; Simons is worth twenty-three billion dollars.

Drawing on unprecedented access to Simons and dozens of current and former employees, Zuckerman, a veteran Wall Street Journal investigative reporter, tells the gripping story of how a world-class mathematician and former code breaker mastered the market. Simons pioneered a data-driven, algorithmic approach that's sweeping the world.

As Renaissance became a market force, its executives began influencing the world beyond finance. Simons became a major figure in scientific research, education, and liberal politics. Senior executive Robert Mercer is more responsible than anyone else for the Trump presidency, placing Steve Bannon in the campaign and funding Trump's victorious 2016 effort. Mercer also impacted the campaign behind Brexit.

The Man Who Solved the Market is a portrait of a modern-day Midas who remade markets in his own image, but failed to anticipate how his success would impact his firm and his country. It's also a story of what Simons's revolution means for the rest of us.

Title: Underland Pdf A Deep Time Journey
Author: Robert Macfarlane
Published Date: 2019
Page: 384

An Amazon Best Book of June 2019: Heads-up to your inner Gilgamesh: "The way into the underland is through the riven trunk of an old ash tree." Starting with that sentence, Robert Macfarlane begins an exploration of the world beneath our feet. Where his earlier book The Old Ways explored landscape and its effects on human experience, Underland dives into catacombs, caves, nuclear waste facilities, and the land beneath Greenland's shrinking ice cap to delve into the darker recesses of our imaginations, a place where artists, adventurers, and criminals have traveled, willingly and otherwise. Expanding his journey into the realm of "deep time"—a parallel expanse of past and future almost unimaginable to human intellect, but also irresistible to contemplate—Macfarlane takes us from the moment of creation into a post-human future, one that might be better off without us. Add its stunning jacket by Stanley Donwood (who creates Radiohead album covers in his spare hours), Underland is a one-of-a-kind book, deeply thoughtful, richly written, and infinitely rewarding. —Jon Foro, Amazon Book Review “Mesmerizing…Underland is a portal of light in dark times.” - Terry Tempest Williams, New York Times Book Review“An excellent book―fearless and subtle, empathic and strange.” - Dwight Garner, The New York Times“Reading Macfarlane connects us to dazzling new worlds. It's a connection that brings, more than anything else, joy.” - Barbara J. King, NPR“Incantatory…A worthy companion to the historian Simon Schama’s monumental Landscape and Memory.” - Marcia Bjornerud, Wall Street Journal“Brilliant.” - Peter Fish, San Francisco Chronicle“Exquisite. ” - Ryan J. Haupt, Science“Quietly prophetic. ” - Jedediah Purdy, Atlantic“Profound in every sense of the word.” - Richard Powers“Underland is a devastating act of witness and a clear, cogent, lyrical examination of the darknesses invisible beneath our feet.” - Lauren Groff“Underland is a profound reckoning with humankind’s self-imperiled position in nature’s eternal order. At once thrilling and soulful, raw and erudite, it is a book of revelations.” - Philip Gourevitch

National Bestseller

From the best-selling, award-winning author of Landmarks and The Old Ways, a haunting voyage into the planet’s past and future.

Hailed as "the great nature writer of this generation" (Wall Street Journal), Robert Macfarlane is the celebrated author of books about the intersections of the human and the natural realms. In Underland, he delivers his masterpiece: an epic exploration of the Earth’s underworlds as they exist in myth, literature, memory, and the land itself.

In this highly anticipated sequel to his international bestseller The Old Ways, Macfarlane takes us on an extraordinary journey into our relationship with darkness, burial, and what lies beneath the surface of both place and mind. Traveling through “deep time”―the dizzying expanses of geologic time that stretch away from the present―he moves from the birth of the universe to a post-human future, from the prehistoric art of Norwegian sea caves to the blue depths of the Greenland ice cap, from Bronze Age funeral chambers to the catacomb labyrinth below Paris, and from the underground fungal networks through which trees communicate to a deep-sunk “hiding place” where nuclear waste will be stored for 100,000 years to come. Woven through Macfarlane’s own travels are the unforgettable stories of descents into the underland made across history by explorers, artists, cavers, divers, mourners, dreamers, and murderers, all of whom have been drawn for different reasons to seek what Cormac McCarthy calls “the awful darkness within the world.”

Global in its geography and written with great lyricism and power, Underland speaks powerfully to our present moment. Taking a deep-time view of our planet, Macfarlane here asks a vital and unsettling question: “Are we being good ancestors to the future Earth?” Underland marks a new turn in Macfarlane’s long-term mapping of the relations of landscape and the human heart. From its remarkable opening pages to its deeply moving conclusion, it is a journey into wonder, loss, fear, and hope. At once ancient and urgent, this is a book that will change the way you see the world.

Disappointed So far the best part is the colorful cover. This was a much anticipated read. I settled in and found my self wading into a molasses of facts and tidbits. I will continue, but find this to be quite a chore. Not at all like previous work. This is a gem of a book. This is my first excursion into the worlds Robert MacFarlane shares through his writing. I am appreciating the breadth of material from which he draws from in order to create a picture of the world under the soil. He succeeds in opening the door and drawing the reader into a fascinating world. We as the reader, are taken on a journey through time and space into what lies underground. These worlds are complex and interconnected. MacFarlane is able to create a tapestry that connects homo sapiens to and with the "underland". The images he creates and the story he tells, about us and the earth, in this book will stay with me for a long, long time.Fascinating and Scary What is the Underland? Of course, there are caves, caverns, underground rivers, and the labyrinths of mythology. But the Underland is more than natural wonders; parts of the Underworld are manmade, like the catacombs beneath Paris, nuclear waste repositories, mines, and cave paintings. And Robert Macfarlane wants to explore every inch of the Underland, no matter how remote or dangerous that dream becomes. To experience the Underland, he survives blizzards, freezing water, ice crevasses, blocked cave passages, and oxygen deprivation. The author’s obsession with all of the manifestations of the Underland, and his willingness to risk his life numerous times to experience it and write this book about it, approaches religious fervor. Numerous times he gets so carried away with his own feelings and ideas that he drifts into irrationality and sentimentality. He even admits it when he is caught up in the concept of the “wood wide web,” the mycorrhizal fungi network that connects all the roots of the plants in a forest. “Lying there among the trees, despite a learned wariness towards anthropomorphism,” he writes, “I find it hard not to imagine those arboreal relationships in terms of tenderness, generosity and even love: the respectful distance of their shy crowns, the kissing branches that have pleached with one another, the unseen connections forged by root and hyphae between seemingly distant trees.” This is not scientific writing; it is pure emotion, a belief system in the making. But his book is so enchanting that we forgive and forget the sentiment and can’t wait for his next Underland adventure. I get it and I still am moved by my own most interesting Underland experience. No, it wasn’t walking down an asphalt path to visit the Big Room in Carlsbad Caverns, it was being lowered in a large bucket a mile deep into a New Mexico uranium mine. That Underland was utterly fascinating and scary at the same time. Just like this book.
