Title: Medical Medium Pdf
Anthony William, the one and only Medical Medium, has helped tens of thousands of people heal from ailments that have been misdiagnosed or ineffectively treated or that doctors can’t resolve. He’s done this by listening to a divine voice that literally speaks into his ear, telling him what lies at the root of people’s pain or illness and what they need to do to restore their health. His methods achieve spectacular results, even for those who have spent years and many thousands of dollars on all forms of medicine before turning to him. Now, in this revolutionary book, he opens the door to all he has learned in over 25 years of bringing people’s lives back: a massive amount of healing information, much of which science won’t discover for decades, and most of which has never appeared anywhere before.

Medical Medium reveals the root causes of diseases and conditions that medical communities either misunderstand or struggle to understand at all. It explores all-natural solutions for dozens of the illnesses that plague us, including Lyme disease, fibromyalgia, adrenal fatigue, chronic fatigue syndrome, hormonal imbalances, Hashimoto’s disease, multiple sclerosis, depression, neurological conditions, chronic inflammation, autoimmune disease, blood sugar imbalances, colitis and other digestive disorders, and more. It also offers solutions for restoring the soul and spirit after illness has torn at our emotional fabric. Whether you’ve been given a diagnosis you don’t understand, or you have symptoms you don’t know how to name, or someone you love is sick, or you want to care for your own patients better, Medical Medium offers the answers you need. It’s also a guidebook for everyone seeking the secrets to living longer, healthier lives.

"The truth about the world, ourselves, life, purpose—it all comes down to healing," Anthony William writes. "And the truth about healing is now in your hands."

Please be wary of Anthony William. I had a "reading" with Anthony in 2015 after years of dealing with a number of unexplained symptoms. I'm a very open-minded person and went into the reading hopeful and excited. I thought this man could tell me what was going on with me. The reading left me confused and frustrated. He spent a good portion of the call asking me about what I was feeling and my symptoms. This burned up a lot of the time. If he has an all-knowing Spirit whispering in his ear, wouldn't he be able to already know what I was experiencing? He then, of course, told me I had EBV. Shocker. We spent the next portion of the call going over the many supplements I'd have to take. At one point Anthony commented, "Good thing you came to me! I'm sure you would have ended up at a Lyme doctor next!" I guess Spirit didn't tell him that I had already been to a Lyme doctor and went down that path for quite awhile (I didn't end up having Lyme though). He then proceeded to tell me how awesome I am, over and over. While I always appreciate a nice compliment, this was not what I wanted to be talking about during this very expensive call. I kept trying to steer the conversation back to my issues and he kept saying that everything was going to be okay and that I am such a cool, funny person. It seemed like he was deliberately trying to avoid answering any specific questions and burn time. I was left feeling confused and put off. I consider myself a very intuitive person and something was really off about all this. However, I was desperate, so I decided to go all in with his recommendations. I spent the next two years diligently following his diet protocol (to the "T" I might add!) and spending hundreds, maybe even thousands on supplements. I even consulted with one of his recommended practitioners for extra guidance through the process. The sum total of my efforts? A ton of weight gained, worsening of my issues, a steep decline into anxiety and depression, inability to work, and a lot of time and money down the drain.I too was brainwashed by this man. I wanted to believe him. I cried to my boyfriend and mom many, many times about not knowing what to believe. It took me a long time to UN-believe everything Anthony told me and start walking down a different path. I'm now seeing a functional medicine doctor and I feel like I'm in the right hands to help me overcome my issues with a balanced approach backed by science, testing, and my own body's wisdom. Every body is different and saying that a high-carb, low-fat diet full of fruit and raw veggies is everyone's answer is dangerous and simply not backed by research. Maybe that diet will work for some, but for others, it won't jive with their body chemistry and could lead to an exacerbation of physical and mental issues.I used to have some online "friends" in the Medical Medium community and I've watched these girls follow Anthony's advice for a few years now. One seems remarkably better, but to be fair, she didn't have very severe issues to begin with. One has made some improvements, but is still really struggling with a lot of issues. Not to mention her eyes look sunken in and her once muscular body is now weak and soft. The last girl never got any better and actually only seemed to get much, much worse. Despite her steady decline, she insisted she was healing and detoxing and refused to give up Anthony's plan. She hasn't posted anything online in months and I have not heard from her. I hope she's okay. It's dangerous for people to blindly follow Anthony's advice. They might forego traditional medical care, insisting that Anthony and his Spirit of the Most High know the truth. This could lead to things being missed that need western medical intervention.Anthony has set up the perfect scam. There is no way disprove or confirm the information he's putting out because nobody else has access to this specialized Spirit 411. He claims that he's years ahead of medical research. How convenient. He has a big, fat disclaimer on his website stating that his information should not take the place of traditional medical advice/diagnosis, to cover himself when people undoubtedly try to sue him for giving them faulty medical information. Additionally, according to AW/Spirit, everything is caused by EBV and Shingles. Fatigue? Oh that's EBV. Nerve pain in your leg? That's shingles, of course. Gaining weight? Well, that's because your liver is sluggish due to EBV. Daddy issues? That's EBV, too (kidding on that last one). Heck, I'm pretty sure I could conduct readings on people and relate all of their symptoms to these viruses. He claims he is the ONLY one who has this information. He claims that the Spirit of the Most High is second to God and only talks to him. When I was in such a desperate, anxious state, I ate up this info from the palm of his hand. Now that I'm making some positive progress with a functional medical doctor, it's like a veil has been lifted and I'm thinking "what the heck? Did I really believe that nonsense?"You might be thinking, "But some people seem to get so much better. How could he be a fake?" Well, in following his advice, a lot of people will cut out dairy, meat, grains, soy, bad oils, corn, etc. and add in an abundance of fresh fruit and veggies. It's not a surprise that people would feel a lot better making these changes. But this is not some new, mind-blowing information. It's simple common sense that's been around since the beginning of time. Eat less crud and more fresh produce and you'll feel a whole lot better. Not rocket science. Some people do really well on a low-fat raw vegan/semi-raw vegan diet. But some don't. Some, really, really don't. Myself included. Some people need more fat, less carbs, and more protein. Believe me, if I could drink delicious fruit smoothies and banana nice cream every day, I freaking would! But sadly, that does not work for my body.At one point, I was listening to all of his radio shows. A couple instances stood out to me. One time a man called in seeking advice. He told Anthony he was following the protocol as directed by Anthony but still having trouble. Anthony said, “Oh, that’s because you need to add in zinc.” The man responded that he was already taking zinc. Anthony was clearly caught off guard and responded by saying, “Oh, well that’s because you’re taking the wrong kind of zinc” and quickly got the man off the phone. In another episode, a distraught mother called in seeking answers about her adult daughter. The mother was nearly in tears and asked Anthony what she could do. Anthony’s response? “Tell your daughter to go watch a sunset.” No info, no diagnosis. Just watch a sunset. The mother kind of stuttered, “Oh, okay” and again she was ushered off the line.Anthony appeared on the TV show Home & Family on the Hallmark Channel awhile ago. He conducted a reading on the female host, waving his arms all around her body. He declared some minor imbalances, but said she was overall very healthy. Well, that same host was diagnosed a few months later with a very serious illness that required medical intervention. Look it up for yourself. If Anthony/Spirit is all-knowing, and according to Anthony, "never wrong," why didn't he pick up on that?I've also read on a few forums/Instagram posts, Facebook posts that the MM Instagram page will block anyone who questions his claims or talks about having a negative experience with his protocols. Ever notice that his Instagram page is suspiciously only positive? No protocol, no matter what it is, has a 100% success rate. It seems like his marketing team is on top of squashing any negative feedback on his social media pages.Lastly, if you type “medical medium petition” into Google, you’ll find a petition to investigate Anthony. You’ll see comments from people who have signed the petition, many of whom included stories about their personal experiences with Anthony or those of a loved one. The stories are heartbreaking. Please read them. If you’ve had a bad experience or simply want more information about this man, I urge you to sign it as well and spread the word. I did not create the petition. I just found it online during my phase of trying to UN-believe Anthony. In my opinion, this man is a very clever fraud with a stellar marketing team. Heck, I just saw him on TV on Extra! He’s getting his name out there, that’s for sure. It’s possible Anthony even believes in his powers himself, and thinks he’s doing good. I don’t doubt that some of his advice could help people, simply because it’s common sense practice for good health. Have a food sensitivity/allergy to gluten or dairy or soy or corn? Take that out and yes, your stomach will feel better, you’ll have more energy, and your skin will probably clear up. I just want people to take this info with a grain of salt. Take away the woo-woo spirit stuff, and really examine if this is right for YOU. I would recommend that anyone see a functional medicine doctor. They work with you using cutting-edge science and research to address the root cause of what ails you.I want to reiterate, I'm not some random person who read the book once and formed an impulse opinion that it was a bunch of crock and came to Amazon to loudly voice my initial impression. I've been down this road. I had a call with Anthony, I diligently followed his protocol, I connected with others on the same path, I listened to all his radio shows that came out at the time, I researched all this A LOT (if you can't tell) and scoured the Internet for anything I could find on him, I read about other people's opinions and experiences (good and bad), and I thought A LOT about all of this and talked with others to come to the personal conclusions that I've divulged here. I'm also not trying to negate anyone else's experiences. If you're doing Anthony's protocol/diet and you're improving/feeling good, then great! Sounds like you found something that works for your body. I suppose I'm putting this out there for everyone else. The ones who have been at this for awhile now, maybe even years, and are not getting better or are even getting worse. Or the ones who are just finding AW and questioning if this is for real or not. I just want to share my experience/findings, so you can look at both sides and make the best decision for your health and well-being.I debated for a long time whether or not to leave a review. I don’t doubt that Anthony’s devoted followers will pick apart this review and come to his defense. I don’t plan on responding to anyone. Not because I think they’re right, but because I want to be done with anything relating to the Medical Medium. I refuse to give this man any more of my precious life energy. If you've read this very lengthy review, thank you for taking the time. I wish you all happiness and health. Onwards and upwards.

My Own Words Pdf

ISBN: B01E4BC1FW
Title: My Own Words Pdf
The first book from Ruth Bader Ginsburg since becoming a Supreme Court Justice in 1993—a witty, engaging, serious, and playful collection of writings and speeches from the woman who has had a powerful and enduring influence on law, women’s rights, and popular culture.

My Own Words offers Justice Ginsburg on wide-ranging topics, including gender equality, the workways of the Supreme Court, being Jewish, law and lawyers in opera, and the value of looking beyond US shores when interpreting the US Constitution. Throughout her life Justice Ginsburg has been (and continues to be) a prolific writer and public speaker. This book’s sampling is selected by Justice Ginsburg and her authorized biographers Mary Hartnett and Wendy W. Williams. Justice Ginsburg has written an introduction to the book, and Hartnett and Williams introduce each chapter, giving biographical context and quotes gleaned from hundreds of interviews they have conducted. This is a fascinating glimpse into the life of one of America’s most influential women.

A bit dry I truly appreciate how Bader Ginsburg has served her country. Her wisdom and judgements have helped us grow. Unfortunately, the editing and intentions of this book relied so heavily on the legal verbiage that we lost some of Ginsburg's sparkle.Interesting yet boring. Perhaps I misunderstood the title, but while Justice RBG is a brilliant and interesting woman, I found reading her speeches and articles very boring.Inspiring, touching, a glimpse into an amazing life of public service. Inspirational. Ruth Bader Ginsburg is a force of nature -- and all Americans owe her a big debt of gratitude for what she has done to uphold democratic principles. She is absolutely tireless, exists on very little sleep, survived 2 different types of cancer, and works out with a trainer to keep fit at age 84 and counting.

Title: Digital Minimalism Pdf Choosing a Focused Life in a Noisy World

A New York Times Best Seller!

"Newport is making a bid to be the Marie Kondo of technology: someone with an actual plan for helping you realize the digital pursuits that do, and don't, bring value to your life." (Ezra Klein, Vox)

Minimalism is the art of knowing how much is just enough. Digital minimalism applies this idea to our personal technology. It's the key to living a focused life in an increasingly noisy world.

In this timely and enlightening book, the best-selling author of Deep Work introduces a philosophy for technology use that has already improved countless lives.

Digital minimalists are all around us. They're the calm, happy people who can hold long conversations without furtive glances at their phones. They can get lost in a good book, a woodworking project, or a leisurely morning run. They can have fun with friends and family without the obsessive urge to document the experience. They stay informed about the news of the day, but don't feel overwhelmed by it. They don't experience "fear of missing out" because they already know which activities provide them meaning and satisfaction.

Now, Newport gives us a name for this quiet movement and makes a persuasive case for its urgency in our tech-saturated world. Common sense tips, like turning off notifications, or occasional rituals, like observing a digital sabbath, don't go far enough in helping us take back control of our technological lives, and attempts to unplug completely are complicated by the demands of family, friends, and work. What we need instead is a thoughtful method to decide what tools to use, for what purposes, and under what conditions.

Drawing on a diverse array of real-life examples, from Amish farmers to harried parents to Silicon Valley programmers, Newport identifies the common practices of digital minimalists and the ideas that underpin them. He reveals how digital minimalists are rethinking their relationship to social media, rediscovering the pleasures of the offline world, and reconnecting with their inner selves through regular periods of solitude. He then shares strategies for integrating these practices into your life, starting with a 30-day "digital declutter" process that has already helped thousands feel less overwhelmed and more in control.

Technology is intrinsically neither good nor bad. The key is using it to support your goals and values, rather than letting it use you. This book reveals the way.

A little thin If you already want to curb the role of digital stuff in your life, you won't get that much value out of this book.Cal makes a great case for WHY to pursue digital minimalism. But I already know why -- my digital addictions are messing up my life. What I wanted to know is HOW.On that, Cal doesn't have as much to say. A few tips -- mostly the "digital declutter," a 30-day moratorium on the digital services in your life -- are pretty useful. For one, it finally convinced me to buy Freedom, an app that regulates your internet use.The rest of the book is thickly padded with anecdotes. They had me flipping pages, wishing we could get to the point.$15 can either get you this book, or half of a year of Freedom. If I could roll back the clock I know where I'd put my money.Serious reading for a more meaningful digital relationship. The reading is compelling, instructional, and practical. I couldn’t put Digital Minimalism down, and ended up "consuming” it in only 4 sits. Because of that, I feel compelled to share a review with you before you make any commitment.I’ll divide this review into 2 parts. First I will share the reasons why I chose to read the book and some personal takeaways. The second part is a summary of the book with a few short excerpts I highlighted while taking notes.PERSONAL THOUGHTSI probably pre-ordered the present book because I’ve been intrigued by how the overused of new technologies [specially social networks] have influenced our societies during the last 10 years. This latest wave is actually recent, and being in my early 30s I still remember clearly how life was during high school and early days in college before this explosion. We all acknowledge the wonders of technology, how the development of new tools has helped the prosperity of our societies in many dimensions. However, the other side of the coin is equally important—consequences that deserve to be understood and evaluated. Besides the social, emotional and psychological aspects, which are the main focus in Digital Minimalism, I do also care about the impacts on our physical health caused by technology overexposure. Not only how the devices shape our physical posture for worst over the years but also the detrimental effects of electromagnetic fields to our overall health. That said, I’ve been trying to be mindful about digital/technology use during the last 4-5 years. I still have some social network accounts, but I feel quite odd among my peers because I’ve been checking these accounts less often than ever—about once a month—but I rarely post pictures or comments. It brings a deep feeling of freedom and calmness. In terms of internet usage, I keep my phone on airplane mode for around 80% of the awake time [sometimes for the entire day], and I often try to go on adventures up in the mountains to be away from signal access for days or weeks at a time. This desire to be unreachable has grown over time and, although it makes me feel grounded and present, I admit that can be quite selfish of me towards loved ones.Reading this book helped me better understand the forces behind addictive technologies, exposed me to pragmatic ideas to implement the minimalism philosophy, and supported my previous thoughts on how we can better handle digital overexposure. I can’t recommend this book enough.SUMMARY[Intro] Digital minimalism, according to Cal Newport, is a philosophy where we focus our online time on a small number of carefully selected and optimized activities that support the things we value. We learn how the author got interested in the topic after receiving feedbacks from his previous book.[Chapter 1] Cal starts with a refresher—bringing back to the early and “potentially innocent" days of Facebook and the iPhone—then, he soon shows how these new technologies took the lead by dictating how we behave and how we feel by pushing us to overuse their products for as long as possible. Interesting story about how NYU professor Adam Alter shifted his research topic after getting “trapped” for 6 uninterrupted hours playing a game on his phone during a cross-country flight. Newport then explains 2 of the main forces used by technology companies to encourage behavior addiction: the need for social approval and positive reinforcement.[Chapter 2] Here is a primer on digital minimalism. We learn that "to reestablish control, we need to move beyond tweaks and instead rebuild our relationship with technology from scratch, using our deeply held values as a foundation.” Cal explains why digital minimalism works through 3 principles. [1] The first principle argues that, when we clutter our time and attention with many apps, social networks, and services, we create an overall negative cost compared to the benefits of each individual item in isolation. I was absolutely delighted to read his arguments by sharing Henry Thoreau’s decision to live for two years in a cabin near the Walden Pond. Thoreau's book, Walden, has actually impacted my life tremendously when I first read as a freshmen in college. [2] The second principle says that besides choosing a technology that supports our values, we should also think how we should use them to extract full benefits—optimizing, therefore, the returns. Here Cal shows how “the law of diminishing returns” can be directly correlated with potential negative effects when technology usage surpass the benefits they can generate. [3] The last principle shows that being more intentional about how we engage with new technologies is one way to become sincerely satisfied. For that, the author illustrates the Amish's approach towards technology: “they start with the things they value most, then work backward to ask whether a given new technology performs more harm than good with respect to their values.”[Chapter 3] In this chapter Cal shares a system for digital decluttering by transforming our relationship with technology. He encourages us to apply a rapid transformation: “something that occurs in a short period of time and is executed with enough conviction that the results are likely to stick.” He divides the process in 3 steps. [1] The first one is to establish which ones of the new “optional” technologies we can step away from without creating major problems in either our professional or personal life. [2] The second step is to take the leap and give ourselves a 30-day break while we rediscover the activities generate real satisfaction without being attached to our devices. [3] The final step is the reintroduction, building it from the scratch, following the principles previously explained in chapter 2 by choosing carefully the apps/tools and using them with a deeper sense of purpose.[Chapter 4] This is most probably my favorite chapter, where we learn the value of solitude. Cal starts by sharing an interesting story of President Lincoln’s decision to reside in a cottage during months at time, communicating back and forth to the White House on horseback. The author then shares the benefits of solitude such as being a prerequisite for original and creative thoughts, as well as a deeper appreciation for interpersonal connections when they occur. He then moves gears towards how solitude depravation has impacted our lives, showing, for example, that the rise in anxiety-related problems among students coincide with the use of smartphones and social media. At the end of the chapter we learn 3 practices to foster more solitude moments in our daily lives: [1] To leave our phones and devices at home. [2] To go on long walks. [3] To spend time journaling. They all make sense to me—more important, though, they can generate extra benefits once we build a positive habit.[Chapter 5] Now we jump to a chapter rich in social psychology lessons. We first learn how our brains evolved to desire social interactions, but differently than the rich face-to-face encounters, during the last decade or so we have been bombarded by digital communication tools, encouraging interactions through short, text-based messages and approval clicks. At the end Cal offers practices to develop meaningful “conversation-centric communication”. They range from avoiding clicking the “like” button to holding more meaningful conversations during office hours.[Chapter 6] Now we jump to an empowering chapter. We learn to cultivate high-quality leisure time at the same time we declutter the low-quality digital distractions from our lives. They both, in fact, work together in order to create a more purposeful habit. This chapter is filled with real life examples of successful stories where helpful lessons are drawn at the end of each example. Like in the previous chapters, Cal doesn’t share only examples, but also practical ways to adopt his claims. My favorite suggestion is about “schedule in advance the time we spend on low-quality leisure.”[Chapter 7] The final chapter is about building a more resistant mindset to understand and therefore avoid “the fragile attention economics that support companies like Facebook helps reveal an important strategy for succeeding with digital minimalism.” Here practices are provided as tactics when further discipline is required: [1] Delete social media from our phone to remove the ability to access them at any time. If we are going to use social medial, we should access them through a web browser. [2] Turn our devices into purposeful tools, diminishing the number of things they enable us to do. On Cal's own words “I’m not talking about occasionally blocking some sites when working on a particularly hard project. I want you instead to think about these services as being blocked by default, and made available to you on an intentional schedule.” [3] To use social media like a social media professional does. [4] To embrace the slow media consumption by maximizing the quality of what we consume. [5] Making the hard choice to switch from smartphone to a “dumb” phone.FINAL THOUGHTSWell, it doesn’t matter where in the spectrum we fall as long as we vow [draw a line] to move the needle towards a more meaningful and intentional technology usage, diminishing our “natural” tendency to become dependent on digital devices. While reading Digital Minimalism I thought about titles that could complement the content. The book Essentialism, by Greg McKeown, is definitely the one who comes to mind first. It helped me focus on less but more important tasks, giving clarity to what matters most. Originals, by Adam Grant, helped me see the world of creativity through a different angle by being more true to who we are. The latest book Atomic Habits, by James Clear, has already influenced me to build better and more meaningful habits during the last 3 months. It can be an extremely helpful source to apply the lessons from Chapter 6. Last, if you would like to learn a bit more about electromagnetic fields and how we can minimize the dangers look no further than The Non-Tinfoil Guide to EMFs, by Nicolas Pineault.I hope the review helps you in some way.Take good care,HaicalReally great book that should be read by everyone This is a great and very readable book that'll probably change how you relate to social media and your phone. You should read it ASAP and I'll be recommending it to everyone I know.Unlike a lot of authors, Cal Newport actually walks the walk too. You don't get tenure at Georgetown AND write a couple bestselling books (with kids) unless you really have your act together. But ... I had two issues with the book. (1) it wasn't organized as well as it could have been, and (2) it contradicted itself in minor ways. The biggest example of the latter is when, early on, Newport bashes on the tips/tricks/hacks ("turn off notifications") that are occasionally recommended to people trying to spend less time with their phone, before later giving many similar tips and tricks (good ones to be sure) himself. The book also has a sort of weird structure -- I figured Part 1 would be the philosophy of it all, where Part 2 would be the implementation, but instead you get the philosophy + the details of the "30 Day Declutter" (which Newport has talked about in interviews leading up to the book) in Part 1, then a detour discussion of leisure, then back to some very good points about the economics of attention + social media to wrap things up.It's all very good, and like I said, you should definitely read it (I could see myself reading it multiple times), but reluctantly I'd say those two things are enough to dock a star.

The human brain is naturally designed to learn. Patterns help the mind see concepts and connections between what you are learning and how you can use it. The mind will likely recall the pattern rather than the lesson fundamentals.

Just like the body, the brain must be exercised regularly. Without regular use, it will weaken and become ineffective. Additionally, an emotional experience will be remembered much more quickly than one that you were not emotionally invested in. Because stress can inhibit the learning process, your emotional and mental state should be as positive and upbeat as possible.

The author of this book, a highly successful psychologist, has developed a unique six-step framework for rapid skill acquisition that has helped hundreds of people from all walks of life improve their approach to learning. Jimmie Powell’s clear, expert voice walks you through the process of developing an effective, lifelong learning habit.
